Another glass of margarita,
Another shot of tequila…
One more night with my guitar…
Warmth from the ashes of my cigar…
In search of the evening star…
Looking outside the window,
There are shadows falling from the sky…
It must be here then,
But I can’t find it again…
And its smiling somewhere afar…
Ohh! Why could’t it stay….
Why it had to go away?
Shining through the maple trees or on coasts of the west….
Twinkle on the bridge, or on oceans crest….
No news from near or far….
And the nights’s like a scar…
It hurts everyday, ohh! Just show me the way…
So, I can see my evening star….
Hiding behind the clouds…
Covering the old wounds….
How much pain is in its heart?
Crumbled to pieces, hurt in places…
Bright as ever like an old work of art…
To make it stay…
I wish everyday…
I put a penny in the jar…
In search of my evening star….
