Like most love stories, Kabir and Aisha met each other, fell in love and wanted nothing more than spending the rest of their lives together. They were inseparable from the beginning, from the day they had first met. A very strong friendship laid the foundation for deep love and true feelings leaving no room for doubts or envy. Kabir was never short of words, anything and everything in his mind was told exactly to Aisha. Sometimes, he did not even have to speak out loud for Aisha to understand. She knew Kabir’s feelings and thoughts from the rhythm of his heart beat, from the expression on his face. They roamed together hand in hand looking at the world around them and wondering how the unfortunate folks made it through their day without having anyone to love in their life. To Kabir and Aisha, loving each other was not even a feeling anymore, it was a state of mind.

It was the best of times! It was the worst of times....
Waiting for the beginning of this new one... Seems like still a few more months to go.... A few more unfortunate run ins with the wrong people before the much awaited fresh start... I am keeping my fingers crossed... Counting backwards..... Hope everything finishes in time to wipe the slate clean and start from the absolute zero!!!!

Simple Song (Shins)
Well this is just a simple song
To say what you done
I told you about all those fears
And away they did run
You sure must be strong
And you feel like an ocean
Being warmed by the sun
When I was just nine years old
I swear that I dreamt
Your face on a football field
And a kiss that I kept
Under my vest
Apart from everything, but the heart in my chest
I know that things can really get rough when you go it alone
Don’t go thinking you gotta be tough, to play like a stone
Could be there’s nothing else in our lives so critical
As this little home!
My life in an upturned boat, marooned on a cliff
You brought me a great big flood
And you gave me a lift
To care, what a gift
You tell me with your tongue
And your breath was in my lungs
And you float over the rift
I know that things can really get rough when you go it alone
Don’t go thinking you gotta be tough, to play like a stone
Could be there’s nothing else in our lives so critical
As this little home!
Well this will be a simple song to say what you’ve done
I told you about all those fears and away they did run
You sure must be strong
And you feel like an ocean
Being warmed by the sun
Remember walking a mile to your house, a glow in the dark
I made a fumblin’ play for your heart and the act struck a spark
You wore a charm in a chain that I stole especially for you
Love’s such a delicate thing that we do, with nothing to prove
Which I never knew
To say what you done
I told you about all those fears
And away they did run
You sure must be strong
And you feel like an ocean
Being warmed by the sun
When I was just nine years old
I swear that I dreamt
Your face on a football field
And a kiss that I kept
Under my vest
Apart from everything, but the heart in my chest

April Fools' Day 2014
Groggy from last night's episode of
"How I met your mother",
I wake up to the beeping phone at 5:08 a.m.
Feeling fooled by "Ted and Robin" ending,
I decide to snooze until next ring of the clock tower.
True love, happily ever afters
always eluded me, but Ted
was a believer of the heart.
Why Robin and not Tracy then?
May be the producer was paid by the hour!
And what about Barney?
9 years of the legendary playbook,
not ending up with even Robin's sidekicks,
not Quinn or Nora or even Patrice's sugary farce.
"Hang in there", I tell myself,
wait a couple of days, may be Christina and Owen
will work out, Grey's Anatomy is not far.
The clock now reads 6:11 a.m.,
the pressure in my furnace might have dropped.
The regulator needs to be changed,
but my sleepless nights are cheap
while the regulator's priced in hundreds of dollars.
Wobbling on the way to the lab,
I spot on the sidewalk, some flowers.
At least the snow storms have regressed
and an almost Spring is on the cards.
"The broken regulator is the secret to
your successful experiments", my advisor quips
in the Tuesday morning group meeting.
I obediently nod through his many comments,
barely comprehending his jokes or wit,
like a caged zoo animal behind the bars.
The aroma of brewed coffee
has been distracting to say the least.
Waiting for the meeting to end, I am almost in a trance.
Anna has been talking about her crystals
for ages and Rob presents the performance
of his revolutionary batteries on a graph.
When its Ed's turn to speak though,
he receives a phone call.
His roommate is hysterical at the other end,
shouting that they have been robbed.
"They took my laptop, PS3, car keys
and some stuff that might be yours".
However, hoping it is a prank on April fools' day,
Ed decides to wait before reporting it to the police
for another couple of hours.
Ed's things don't turn up by the magic
of April, 1st as he moans the loss of
his Godzilla statue made of brass.
And here I have to pacify Sean
who cannot find the chemicals
to make a salt solution of a few molar.
Then there is the new york city big shot,
who gets to use my instrument
without reservation forcing me to postpone my runs
and talks to me in a manner so crass!
I am close to giving up and
packing up to go home.
But the thought crosses my mind too.
Is it a cosmic prank? Will it play out differently
if I waited patiently for some more time to pass?
Will I get rewarded for not falling into the trap?
The winner of the grand slams of the
fools' day, making it through,
forever known as Miss Wise Arse.
And what will the award be?
A precious trophy, some gift certificates,
a straightforward monetary compensation
or the freedom to perform my "I told you so" dance?
The thunderstorms awaken me from my reverie
and I see its dark outside.
"Yippy!" I say to myself, remaining
unworked and unfooled all day.
Both are accomplishments, I will stay proud
of until tomorrow and next March.
